Off piste guiding details

  • Briefing about the avalanche situation in St. Anton, Stuben and Zuers and in general about the Arlberg ski resort
  • Warm up skiing on easy off piste runs around St. Anton
  • We decide where to go depending on the weather and the snow conditions. All the different areas have their advantages. For example the Rendl has the best visibility in the typical north-west weather stream . Stuben has huge north exposed slopes and very often good powder. Galzig is the best on big powder days. Schöngraben has amazing tree skiing.  For more information, see our off piste ski routes guide book from St. Anton , Stuben and Zuers.
  • We will guide you over the best off piste runs in the Arlberg ski resort like Maroikopf down to LangenLangentress (Langen forest) , Back of RendlValluga north faceValluga west face or any other amazing powder run around St. Anton Stuben Zuers and Lech. If it is snowing we will stay around St. Anton like Schöngraben, Galzig, or Rendl north face below the tree line.
  • The ALL OFF PISTE mountain and ski guide will support you to move your off piste skiing level to the next stage.
  • The UIAGM mountain and ski guide will explain the avalanche and weather situation to make the mountain hazards more visible for you. On this way you will learn how to avoid danger zones on the mountain with the certain avalanche risk level
  • If the weather is good enough and the ski touring conditions are nice we will do ski touring trips to get to the best powder skiing in St. Anton, Stuben and Zuers possible. In the springtime we will ski with the sun to get awesome soft spring snow or we will ski off piste runs in high altitude where the powder stays nice and cold.

Your equipment for the off piste guiding day:

  • Good floating off piste skis  with min. 85mm width below the binding. On big powder days min. 100mm below the binding are a „must-have“. Early-rising rocker makes the skiing in the powder much more fun and playful.  You can rent some off piste skies in the Jennewein rental shop based in StAnton am Arlberg just below the „Anton Hotel„.
  • We strongly recommend helmets and avalanche backpack – especially on big powder days
  • Good – fitting ski boots
  • Goggles!!!!!
  • Off piste backpack min. 20-30-litre volume and ski fixing option
