Collection of avalanche accidents 2013/14
Every avalanche accident is a very dramatic situation for the involved persons. I did a little collection from the accidents 2013/14. I picked situations where every skier can find him self playing next to the piste and typical avalanche scenarios.

A skier lost a ski close to the piste and followed it in the bowl to pick it up. The person triggered an avalanche an got buried 1,5 meters. With avalanche transceiver got the person rescued 30 minutes later unfortunately to late.
On the way up to the Granatenkogel in Ötztal they released an avalanche which become massive.

Close to the ride line, steep terrain, sector north, non skied terrain
A snowboarder went very close to the piste had a fall and dropped over the corner released an avalanche got moved down all the way to the bottom and died because of fatal injuries.
It is not saver between avalanche barriers. They are just made to avoid super big avalanches which can reach the valley.
The risk of fatal injuries between avalanche buries is very high.
Every year avalanches go over pistes.
A guide from Zuers could localize the buried person just with the avalanche probe and nothing serious happened.
