Rendl North Face Off-Piste Run
This is a stunning, long, north-facing off-piste run, visible from the village, the Rendl cable car, and even the Mooserwirt ;-)
However, be aware that the area near the Gabelrinne is consistently more unstable than the rest of the face, with several fatal avalanche accidents having occurred there.
As you descend towards the tree line, the terrain becomes increasingly steep, with only a few safe lines through the forest.
The Gabelrinne, located in the middle of the face, is considered a no-go zone due to its high avalanche risk. Traversing through the trees towards the Gabelrinne and then returning to the main ski line can also be dangerous, as avalanches triggered by skiers above—either from poor route choices or getting lost—can put you at risk.
Route from Gampberg Chairlift (Wannele Ski Route R5)
Start from the Gampberg chairlift and follow the Wannele ski route (R5).
After passing the avalanche barrier, continue west and ski around the ridgeline into the Rendl North Face.
Descend all the way to the tree line, aiming for the last pylon of the gondola before the trees.
At the pylon, take a sharp right along a small path and continue almost horizontally until you reach a flat forest glade.
From there, navigate through the bushes and forest with zig-zag turns until you reach a large path that leads back to St. Anton.
